DESCRIPTION:Ad Lib Theatre are back at Northwood House! – This time with a brand new comedy written not by Shakespeare but by Island writer Maureen Sullivan\, author of the sell-out ‘Bard in the Sand. \nGhost Hunting brings back together the talented team which has staged a string of incredibly popular Ad Lib Shakespeare plays\, the most recent being Taming of the Shrew in June 2024. \nSo what’s it about?… \nKevin the Ghost Hunter can see ghosts – at least\, that’s what he tells his gullible public. But the illustrious former residents of the Island know the living can’t see them….until they meet Bernard. And now the ghosts of Queen Victoria\, Dickens\, Sir George Carey and even Shakespeare himself have a link to the modern world\, they can influence events in 2024 – can’t they?? \nBut there’s a witch finder on the loose – it’s going to take all the skills of the living and the dead to thwart his evil plans before Sir George can rebuild his mansion and Victoria can have her party! Meet the ghost of the Prince Regent at Northwood House; the wandering romantic spirit of Keats; wobbly-headed Charles I; the formidable Isabella\, Lady of the Island and many more in a spookily silly spectacular which has been described as Blackadder meets Ghosts meets Horrible Histories! \nWhen’s it on?… \nThere are two special evening performances in the Northwood House Ballroom on Thursday 30th January and Friday 31st January with curtains up at 7.30pm\, so get your ticket now and have something to look forward to after the Yuletide festivities – they make great Christmas gifts too.  This hilariously historical play is the perfect antidote to the January blues! \nWine and cheese anyone? \nWhy not join us for a pre-show glass of wine\, with cheese and biscuits in the Northwood House Drawing Room between 7.00pm and 7.30pm to make even more of your evening out (please select pre-show option in ticket section). Tickets are limited for this option due to room restrictions. \nAd Lib Theatre are an Island-based community theatre group with a fantastic reputation for producing high quality and entertaining amateur theatre productions. \nTicket Prices: \nStandard Admission only £10 per person \nStandard Admission plus pre-show Wine & Cheese (in the Drawing Room 7pm-7.30pm): £20 per person* \n* Pre-show tickets include a choice of one x 175ml glass of house wine (Chardonnay / Pinot Grigio  / Pinot Rose Blush / Merlot / Shiraz) plus cheese and biscuits. Please arrive at 7pm for this ticket option.  \nGluten free option available\, but no alternative dietary requirements can be catered for\, sorry. \n Over 18’s only may order tickets with an alcoholic drink. Challenge 25 policy in operation. \nSorry but no ticket concessions are available for this event.  \n \nMore information about attending: \nThe play runs approximately over 2 x 60 minute halves with a 20-minute interval. \nDoors open at 7pm\, please don’t arrive until after this time! The play starts promptly at 7.30pm. \nThe comedy play is suitable for a wide age range\, including older children from 13 years old who must be accompanied by a parent of guardian. \nParking is available in the  Northwood House Rotunda or Park Road Car Parks (sorry\, limited capacity in the Rotunda car park). Parking is free after 6pm on all days. \nThe House Bar will be open from 7pm until the end of the interval for hot and cold drinks and bar snacks. \nPre-show Cheese and wine tickets are available on a limited basis\, \n  \nCancellation/refunds \nSorry\, but tickets aren’t refundable once purchased. \nIn the unlikely event that one or both performances have to be cancelled for any reason\, a full refund will be made to ticket holders within 48 hours of the cancellation time and you will be contacted by email to confirm any further actions by Northwood House or Ad Lib Theatre. \nPLEASE BRING A PRINTED COPY OF YOUR EMAIL TICKET CONFIRMATION WITH YOU TO SHOW AT THE ADMISSION GATE OR HAVE IT AVAILABLE TO SHOW ON YOUR MOBILE PHONE. \n  \n  \n
