DESCRIPTION: Tuesday 5th August  2025 (1pm & 3.30pm sittings) \nThere will definitely be “Bliss in the Ballroom” this Cowes Week if you like tea and cake…. \n \nTickets are exclusively available through the Price is Wight website soon: Click Here \nNorthwood House is the perfect destination in Cowes Week for meeting up with friends and family for a special treat.  \nThis year we are offering another exclusive opportunity to enjoy a vintage afternoon tea experience on the Tuesday of Cowes Week (the official Cowes Week Ladies Day)\, served to perfection by our award-winning volunteer team. The “Bliss in the Ballroom” Vintage Afternoon Tea includes a delicious selection of fresh home-made sandwiches\, cakes\, scones and hot drinks\, as well as a glass of premium fizz /alcohol-free fizz on arrival to get you in the mood for Cowes Week socialising. \nYour afternoon tea will be accompanied by talented local pianist Jim Thorn playing on the Ballroom grand piano to create a perfect relaxing atmosphere for you and your friends or family. \nThe Menus: \n \n \nVintage Afternoon tickets are only £24.50 per person\, with all profits going towards Northwood House Charitable Trust’s project restoration funds…thanks for your support! So gather some friends and family and join us on one of these special afternoons for a Cowes Week treat. \nThis event is only bookable in advance via the Price is Wight and not available for walk-ins on the three days (sorry). \nWe will be offering our normal Tea Garden through the Cowes Week on the St Mary’s Lawn for those who are looking for a more casual outside experience during the week where no pre-booking is required\, but is subject to weather being good (of course). \nAllergen/dietary information. \nThe following options are catered for: \n\nStandard vintage afternoon tea\nGluten-free standard vintage afternoon tea\nPlant-based vintage afternoon tea\nGluten-free plant-based vintage afternoon tea\n\nPlease note: Other specific allergens can be catered for but must be stated in advance immediately upon booking by contacting the venue. The last day to notify the venue for allergen requirements is Thursday 30th July. Non-disclosed allergen requests cannot be catered for on the day of the event\, sorry. Please email allergen requests to administrator@northwoodhouse.org  or call Cath in the Northwood House office on 01983 293642 (weekdays 10am-4pm). \nPlease note no other dietary choices can be provided for\, sorry. \nBooking information \n1) Maximum table size is 8 people. For bookings of more than 8 people in a group\, guests will be located on different tables but in close proximity where possible. \n2)  Groups of  6-8 people will have their own table. People booking in smaller groups of up to five people may be sharing tables with other smaller groups and individuals. \n3) Please state any allergens for each person in the booking section. We cannot cater for specific allergen needs if it hasn’t been notified in advance\, sorry. We are unable to cater for any other non-allergen related dietary choices except for “plant-based”\, which you should state in the booking section. \n4) Please arrive no earlier than the stated start time via the Rotunda entrance or Tea Garden entrance. \n5) The tea sitting is up to 2 hours from stated start time of  1pm and 3.30pm. Please arrive no later than 30 minutes after the stated opening times.  The event finishes at 4pm.  \n6) The pianist will play during each tea sitting with several twenty minute interludes. \n7) No refunds can be issued after booking has been completed\, sorry. \n8) Options to purchase additional drinks available on the afternoon. \n9) Please bring a copy of your Price is Wight booking email with you on the day to check in. \nParking: \nField Parking is available on the Ward Avenue event field for £3.50 per car if booked in advance with your afternoon tea ticket\, saving £1.50 on the standard afternoon charge \nMake an Afternoon of it! \nJoin us after your Cowes Week Afternoon Vintage Tea for drinks in the Cowes Week Lawn Bar ….the prefect way to relax for the rest of the day.
