Taking place monthly at 12:30 on Wednesdays and each lasting 40 minutes\, they are the ideal addition to your lunch break\, so why not join us in the Ballroom at Northwood House in Cowes!\nYou can also join us for lunch straight after the concert in the Drawing Room\, which you can pre-order when buying your tickets\, or separately if you have already bought your tickets. A high energy cabaret whirlwind\, award winning stand up comedian\, singer of songs\, host\, DJ\, and a general buffoon; Quivers is here to risk all remaining dignity to make you laugh and bring you some joy.\n  \n\nSince 2020\, Quivers has been performing to crowds across the South Coast\, producing unique solo cabaret shows and spreading their own brand of humour. \n  \n\nQuivers’ live shows include all sorts including live songs\, comedy\, puppetry\, and original songs. If the weather is nice\, you can relax outside in the sunshine on St Mary’s Lawn too. \n \nTea\, Coffee and cakes will be served by our award winning volunteer catering team\, with all funds raised going to support our work to look after Northwood Park which benefits the whole Cowes community\, thank you. \nEveryone is welcome\, so if you love Northwood House and Park\, just drop in and see us! DESCRIPTION: \nIf your are a registered local charity or community organisation and would like to have a free outside promotional and fundraising pitch at this year’s Cowes  “Picnic in the Park” event on Sunday 7th June 2026\,  then it couldn’t be simpler. \nJust fill out your details using the booking section below and reserve the space you need…then just arrive on the day in Northwood Park (via the entrance on Ward Avenue) between 9.30am and 10.30am to set up your gazebo in readiness for the event to start at around 12 noon. \nGoogle map reference for directions: https://goo.gl/maps/hoseLFrDrgjenZPP8 \nThe event is organised on behalf of the Cowes community by Northwood House Charitable Trust and is generously funded by  Cowes Town Council with additional support from the Royal Yacht Squadron and Red Funnel Ferries. \n  \n  \nRemember visitors will start arriving to enjoy the day from 11am\, after which time we can’t have any further vehicle movements in the park\, hence the need to be here nice and early. \nA standard sized gazebo will fit into a 3m x 3m space\, but larger pitches up to 6m x 6m are available\, but please don’t book larger than you need. You won’t be able to park your vehicle behind your pitch but will be asked to park in the exhibitors free parking area adjacent to the Northwood Park War Memorial. \nYou will be expected to stay in attendance until 5pm\, the official end of the picnic and all of the afternoons entertainment. \nPlease take any litter home with you and leave the grass space as you found it. \nPlease dress your stand and make it look as attractive as possible to help celebrate the occasion. \n \nIf you are a registered charity you should provide us with your charity registration number on the booking page please and if you plan to fund raise on the day\, then you should hold a charity collection licence to fund-raise at a public event from the Isle of Wight Council. You should bring a copy with you in case you are asked to produce it. If you simply want to have a promotional stand giving out information or making visitors aware of your activities\, then no charity collection licence is required. \nAll charity and community organisations will also need to provide us a copy of their public liability insurance in the unlikely case there are any issues on the day\, as you will be responsible for the health and safety on your pitch. \nThe event normally goes on even in all weathers\, but in the situation where heavy rain and or high winds are forecast\, we may take the decision to cancel the event by 3pm on Saturday 31st May or in the worst case scenario by 9am on Sunday 1st June. SUMMARY:The 2026 Cowes Picnic in the Park
DESCRIPTION:Save the date! The Cowes community is getting back together again for the enormously popular “Picnic in the Park”\, thanks to generous funding from Cowes Town Council and various local organisations. So call your friends\, plan you picnic and come on down for a fantastic free afternoon of family fun and entertainment within the grounds of Northwood House here in the heart of Cowes! \n \nThis will be the eleventh annual Picnic in the Park event and judging by the huge turn out of over 2000 people for last year’s picnic\, the event seems to get more popular than ever! So get your picnic baskets ready to go and head on down to Northwood Park to join in the fun from 12pm on Sunday 7th June for some sun (hopefully)\, fun (always) and great company (guaranteed)! \nThis a community inclusive event with everyone welcome to attend…not just from Cowes but from all over the Island. And if you’re visiting from the mainland\, we’d love to have you join us. In fact the more the merrier! \nThere will a programme of live music from 12pm to 5.30pm on the Lawn Stage to enjoy\, plus a Family Fun Arena with free kids games and entertainment. \nThe Annual Fun Dog Show will also be back which attracts dozens and dozens of four legged friends and their families along for some canine shenanigans!  We also showcase a selection of all of the Islands most deserving charities and good causes who’ll be here in the park raising awareness of what they do and hopefully a few pounds too! \n \n  \nThe event is being organised and hosted by Northwood House Charitable Trust on behalf of Cowes Town Council who generously fund most of the event. Other community partners support with funding too including our friends at the Royal Yacht Squadron and Red Funnel Ferries. \nAdmission is absolutely free with everyone welcome (although a £3 charge for parking on the Ward Avenue field will be levied for those driving to the event). \nSo just bring a picnic\, friends\, family and dog too if you’ve got one…and join us for a fantastic afternoon on the lawns in what has become a fantastic annual community celebration. In fact why not bring your whole street along for a safe street-style party in the park? \nThe Northwood House Lawn Bar and Tea Garden will be open all afternoon plus there will be wood-fired pizza from So Much Dough to enjoy if you don’t want to bring a picnic. \nThe Cowes Town Mayor  will be opening the event at 12pm before an afternoon of musical entertainment commences as follows: \n12.10pm: The Wight Diamonds Marching Band \n1pm: The JC Fun Band \n2.35pm: TBC \n4.00pm: Honkey Tonk Highway (the Island’s favourite Country & Western band) \n5.30pm: Stage closes & last orders at the Lawn Bar \n \nIn the park there will be a children’s arena with fun\, games and simple entertainment\, with races\, game shows and even some welly boot throwing!  There will also be story telling\, kids crafts and dance classes…all free to take part in. The event will also have a range of over 25 community and charity exhibition stands to support. It’s all about having some simple fun with family and friends and everyone is welcome! \nThe Children’s arena programme is now being finalised and will be posted here closer to the event. \n \nThe event also sees the return of the popular “Picnic in the Park” Fun Dog Show which usually gets overwhelmed with entries! So get your pet pooch looking it’s best and bring them along too! The Fun Dog show has 9 different classes\, with a “Best in Show” to finish. Entries are from 12pm\, but classes begin at 2pm. DESCRIPTION:Gather some friends and meet for coffee and cake at one of our new monthly community coffee mornings! \nWe will open the house doors from 10am to 12pm on Monday 7th September and will be serving tea\, coffee and cake in the Drawing Room\, where you can come and have a catch up and a natter with friends for a couple of hours. If the weather is nice\, you can relax outside in the sunshine on St Mary’s Lawn too. \n \nTea\, Coffee and cakes will be served by our award winning volunteer catering team\, with all funds raised going to support our work to look after Northwood Park which benefits the whole Cowes community\, thank you. \nEveryone is welcome\, so if you love Northwood House and Park\, just drop in and see us!
