We’re delighted to bring you the first Isle of Wight Spring Art & Garden Fair “Roots & Shoots” Plants Talks Tent.
The tent features a fantastic programme of gardening speakers across the two days of the fair which visitors can enjoy in the confines of our premium lawn marquee.
Supported by the RHS as well as Red Funnel Ferries, Medina Books and Busy Bee Garden Centre..come and enjoy a talk or two with some very special guests!
Even though the talks are free to enter on a drop-in basis, some of them are likely to be over-subscribed and very popular, especially when you see who’s coming to speak! You can therefore take the guess work and worry out of the day if there’s somebody you definitely want to hear speak and reserve a seat for a charity donation of just £4 which you can do in the ticketing section of the website when you purchase your admission tickets.
The donation will go to our Northwood Park Volunteers Gardeners Support Fund to assists in the upkeep of Northwood Park by buying new tools and equipment for our team of unpaid volunteers who work so hard on behalf of the charity to serve the local community.
Take a look at who’s in the programme:

Medina Books from Cowes will be in attendance with a range of gardening books for sale including those from some of the main speakers who have published recent titles. You can purchase books before and after the talk and get them signed by the author/speaker in most circumstances.
Attending a Roots & Shoots talk
You’ll need to have purchased a general admission ticket for the Fair to get access to the Talk Tent.
If you wish to attend one of the talks please make your way to the Roots & Shoots Tent on the main Northwood House Lawns.
Please be at the tent 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled talk time to make sure there’s plenty of time to get you seated in time for a prompt start. Please queue quietly.
We apologise in advance if you are unable to get a seat for one of the talks as some could be busy and over-subscribed.
Reserving a priority seat for a speaker
Although talks are generally free to attend, the only way to guarantee a priority seat in the Talks Tent for a particular speaker is to reserve a seat with a £4 donation. You can do this when you purchase an admission ticket on the main Spring Fair home page.
If you have reserved a seat you’ll have to check in with our stewards at least 15 minutes in advance of the talk. You’ll get priority seating as near to the front as possible (subject to the number of reservations).
Donations all go to our Northwood House Park Volunteers Fund to support the great work of team of dedicated volunteers who look after Northwood Park on behalf of the the local community and your donation is very gratefully received.
