The Isle of Wight Spring Art & Garden Fair brings together a fantastic collection of different exhibitors of all types, including garden and plant nurseries from the Island and mainland who will be taking space on the lawns of our historic venue, as well as a fantastic Island artist showcase inside the elegant rooms of the main house itself. Its a diverse and eclectic event which visitors love.
It’s great for gardening folk…with plants, shrubs, tools, ironmongery, landscaping products and other outdoor leisure products all on display over the two-day event. Guest mainland exhibitors who normally exhibit at the large RHS mainland shows will be attendance selling the highest quality plant stock. Plus there’s a huge range of other stands to see from artisan craft to local produce…all helping to make the perfect atmosphere that visitors love.
The Fair has grown into the Island’s most important public exhibition event for Island artists. You’ll see some incredible work on display in the Island Art Showcase inside Northwood House from some of the most talented and creative artists in their field, whether its in painting, photography and even sculpture. There will be a live painting demonstration complete with some human models as subject matter running through the weekend, where visitors can have a go at sketching and painting with tuition from experienced Island artists in situ.
There’s always good vibes…The popular Northwood House Lawn Bar will be open over the weekend serving the first Pimm’s of the season. You can catch some relaxing live music with our popular Spring Fair resident duos JC & Angelina and Mike & Amy Joliffee. So kick back, grab a glass of pinot and settle in for the afternoon.
Plus there’s the famous Spring Fair Tea Tent managed by the award-winning Northwood House Volunteers, serving fresh sandwiches, cakes and afternoon cream teas for everyone to enjoy. There will also be a tasty food from the Harbour Kitchen in Cowes as well as guest caterers from the mainland, the incredible Nordic Smokery…so there’s plenty to tickle your taste buds!
It’s Easter weekend and that wont go with out notice as we will have a free Easter Egg Trail for the kids around the event, where everyone will get a prize for taking part. The event is always great fun for families…with kids under 16 coming in free. There’s also fun to be had in the Kid’s Creation Station with more free art and craft activities for the younger ones, plus story telling and some seed planting thrown in for good measure. And if you love dogs…watch the team from ‘BARKING MAD’ who’ll be demonstrating dog agility, fly-ball and obedience training. You can even bring your own dog and have a go yourself!
Lovers of old vehicles will love the special annual display by the Isle of Wight Vintage Tractor Club who’ll be showing off some of their prized old tractors and engines from yesteryear, always a fabulous part of the Fair.
