The 2023 Tennis Court Hog Roast & Band Night (fundraiser)
2nd July £18.50 - £500.00
Join us on the Northwood House lawns on the evening of Sunday 2nd July for great music, tasty food and excellent company as we come together again for our annual fund-raising event for the Aitken Tennis Courts in Northwood Park.
The Aiken Courts are a popular community asset used by lots of local people. Our mission is to keep the courts as a “free to play” facility, but as a charity, we need help with the ongoing costs of maintaining the courts to a high playing standard. Following the total refurbishment of the courts that was completed in 2020, the courts have become more popular than ever…so if you play regularly, this is your chance to help contribute to some of the running costs by coming along to our Hog Roast supper fundraising evening.
Just to clean the courts professionally each spring now costs over £1600 alone, with ongoing fees like insurance and other maintenance adding up to many hundreds of pounds over the year.
So join us for a very sociable evening on the Northwood House lawns from 6:30pm to 10.15pm on Sunday 2nd July, with a glass of prosecco or G&T on arrival and a delicious hog roast supper laid on by top Island caterers “Oasis Catering” and the Northwood House team.
The hog roast will be served with a selection of fresh side salads and accompaniments, followed by a choice of home-made brownies and ice cream, or strawberries and fresh cream. There will be vegetarian and vegan options too if the hog roast isn’t for you.
The Lawn Bar itself will be closing early at 6pm and will re-open at 6.30pm to host this strictly ticket-only exclusive event.
Great live music will accompany the delicious hog roast supper which will be brought to you by JC’s Folklore Fun Band with dancing very much encouraged in front of the stage. The Lawn Bar marquee will be there to use too, so even if the weather is less than clement you can still enjoy the evening whilst under cover. We will also be doing some fundraising on the evening with a raffle, with prize donations gratefully received in advance.
Tickets are £23.50 each for adults, with a child ticket (3-15 years old) available for £18.50. All event profits from ticket sales and the raffle will go to our dedicated court maintenance funds to use for ongoing maintenance projects.
Everyone is welcome, with tickets available to purchase online below or by phoning the office on 01983 293642 between 10am and 2pm Mon-Thurs.
If ordering online please state whether you want want a meat, vegetarian & vegan option from the drop down menu.
