Cowes Week Guest Trader-information and booking portal
1st July - 9th August £22.50 - £115.00
Guest Trader Booking & Information Page
Thank you for your confirming your interest in becoming one of a small number of quality guest traders permitted here on our lawns during Cowes Week. We are hoping this will support and showcase some local businesses each day after a very difficult 2020/21 with very limited trading opportunities across the Island so far.
You will already have received details about the opportunity directly from us (hopefully)..and only those approved by us to book may use this page to do so. If you haven’t spoken to us before booking a space please do so first as plots are limited each week. Please email events@northwoodhouse.org and we will be able to tell you if we can accommodate you. If you book without having confirmation from us first we will simply reject and refund the booking (sorry!).
What’s the opportunity?
Northwood House and Park have become established as one of the Island’s premier event locations over the last few years and gets well supported by local people and visitors when we host events at our venue. Many local businesses who have attended our other events will know that we get good footfall to the venue…with our location here in Cowes helping with additional footfall from the many tourists who visit the town in the summer which we will be tapping into.
During Cowes Week, Northwood House is a busy location, operating the main event car parking for the event which generates a lot of passing footfall through Northwood Park. Our popular Tea Garden is open every day on the St Mary’s lawn, as well as the established Lawn Bar on our main front lawn which is a hugely popular destination for visitors in its own right and is promoted by Cowes Week Ltd as an official event venue.
Unlike trading opportunities on Cowes Parade which cost many thousands of pounds for the week , we can offer extremely cost effective space during the week to help support quality local exhibitors. Space is being made available in the highly visible Tea Garden on the St Mary’s lawn of Northwood House. We can accommodate 12-15 traders in 3m x 3m gazebos if required, but are equally happy with just a handful each day. Should interest reach a critical mass of more than 12 traders each day we will promote the event as a bijou traders market to help further increase the footfall.
What kind of traders do we permit?
Local artists
Home-made craft & jewellery makers
Plants and garden product retailers
High quality homeware, giftware & clothing/accessory retailers
Local producers with products for take home consumption only (fruit/veg/preserves/sweets/biscuits etc, but not cakes)
Sorry, but no catering or other food concessions are permitted as a guest traders as you will be setting up in our Tea Garden with catering already provided. We are are also unable to accept applications from non-retail exhibitors or organisations wishing to promote their services or activities. We know there are many of you out there who would like the opportunity but space is too limited to widen this remit.
Note: All guest traders should have public liability insurance for their business that covers them for market style trading. A copy of the certificate will need to be supplied in advance.
Dates, times and more details:

Monday 2nd August: 11am-5pm (Set up from 9.30am)
Tuesday 3rd August: 11am-5pm (Set up from 9.30am)

Exhibitors can book one day or multiple days at a discount but no refunds are offered for poor weather days when footfall may be reduced unless the event is cancelled on the day.
All Exhibitors will need to set up their stand in a smart gazebo/shelter no bigger than 3m x 3m.
Parking will be adjacent to the Tea Garden gate for unloading and loading. Some carrying to and from your vehicle will be required. Your vehicle will have to be relocated to a near by designated car parking area in the park for the opening period.
We are unable for stalls to left on the lawn overnight (there is no security provision) so exhibitors booking multiple days must factor in setting up and down each day. However, we may be able to offer some internal storage inside our main building if required for those booking all six days.
What is the cost?
We are making this as cost effective as we can so that the financial risks are limited for everyone following these tough sixteen months.
The cost per day for a 3m x 3m pitch is only £22.50.
If you want a double pitch (6m x 3m) the fee is simply twice as much at £45 per day…just book two spaces for the same day. No other commission is payable on sales, so what you take you keep unless you want to make a further donation to our charity.
You can book all six days for a 3m x 3m gazebo space for only £115, saving £20 on booking all six days individually.
With the low prices, plots cannot be refunded once purchased even if the weather is bad unless we cancel the market and close the tea garden on any of the days That’s part of the risk we all have to take to make things happen with outdoor events this summer…and to allow us to keep the very low pitch prices.
How do we get there and where do we go?
Stalls will be located on the Tea Lawn of the main House which is accessed via the staff entrance drive down in to the park before the main rotunda entry drive. This is opposite house No 25 in Ward Avenue. Access is only available from 9.30am on each day.
Please drive carefully down in the park with your hazard warning lights flashing and park on the grass adjacent to the Tea Lawn, keeping the access path open to other traffic. You will be directed by a staff member to your plot and advised where to park after you’ve unloaded.
Please make an effort to make your gazebo/stand look attractive and colourful. Bunting and flags are very much welcomed.
What will the set up/ opening times be?
Set up is from 9.30-10.30am daily with the Tea Lawn opening to visitors at 11am. No setting down until after 5pm when the Tea Garden closes.
What is the latest Covid-19 guidance about keeping ourselves and customers safe?
Indications are that no covid regulations will be in place after the 19th July for outside events. However if some rules remain we will have to implement a specific Covid policy for exhibitors and customers, similar to what exists now for markets and fairs so we will update you with that specific information if required
We will though be encouraging social responsibility at the venue, with hand-sanitiser at entrance points for visitors to use and signage encouraging visitors to socially distance and to wear face coverings if they wish to responsibility for their own safety.
We will encourage exhibitors to provide hand sanitiser on their stand for customers to use while browsing and where possible to provide contactless payment facilities..
